Social Work Class.

Yeah, I am doing a social work module this semester. Though the lectures are quite bad, in the sense that they are boring, I do enjoy the tutorials.

But today's tutorial had an impact on me. We were told to draw Geno grams and Eco grams (something like family tree). We sat in our groups and had some good discussions about it. But something really affected me.

This is this year 1 girl in my group and she is really the bubbly and sporting kind. She plays soccer, speaks well and I admire her courage. The first thing I thought to myself when I saw her was that her parents have brought her up well. But I found out today that her father is decreased. He passed away the week before she started school. Her mother is not working cause of an operation and this girl is working all by herself to support the family.

The problem does not stop here. Her dad had 3 wives and so there comes the step mothers, step sisters and step brothers. And she very openly said that she does not like any of them except for her mum and her brother.

I am impressed by her. Her strong will and her positive outlook of life. Its very rare to meet such people. I took it as a lesson and thanked God. I am blessed.

And to you, that was really a big surprise.
But I meant what I told you.
