Lunch.

And so I met Usha for lunch today. We headed down to Fong Seng and had a good time together.

Started talking about some people and slowly moved into a deep conversation about hypocrisy and friendship. Usha has been seeing some hypocrites lately and so she was updating me about it. What struck me the most was when she told me that there are people who actually call themselves best friends and what not, but they actually go around bitching/ or back stabbing one another. And I must clear this thing here. I am talking about people who are around my age group. Some even older.

Yes I agree that the world is a unfair place to stay and no one told us that life is gonna be fair. But come on, we are talking about friendship here. Its one of those relationships that does not expect anything in return. Its a relationship that is entirely based on trust and affection for one another. Yet we have people going around calling themselves best friends while at the same time they are prolly cursing or swearing at each other.

This actually reminds me of another incidient that happened over the week. Went to have lunch with one of my school mates. She is a confused soul. Somehow her confusion is always in the picture. Anyway thats not the point here. She calls someone her best friend. But she was complaining about how the other party has not been responding to her and in fact has been ignoring her. Then I tried to help her out by asking her to text a message to the other party and call him/her out for lunch. Guess what she told me?

'Why should I message? Since he does not message or call then why should I bother?'
Me: *blank look*

What kind of friendship is this? When did ego come to the picture?

I dunno man. But am just disturbed by these people.

Anyways, am happy with my precious gems.

In fact I think I am blessed to have them.

Cheers to those gems!
