The art of proposing.

I was talking to one of my friends and we had this serious debate. The notion of the debate was on who should propose first, whether the guy should do it or should the girl propose to the guy.

I was arguing that a guy should propose first to the girl. He was saying that the girl should make the first step. This was how he justified his stand.

Him: Do you know how difficult it is to propose to someone you really like?

Me: Well isn't that very exciting? Bringing yourself to that person who you really love and telling her that you want to share your life with her?

Him: What exciting? Its so difficult k. You have to think so much and you don't know even know what she is going to say also. And you gotta handle her reactions too. We guys have to remain so calm though we are so stressed while you girls will give us all kinds of reactions. We have to entertain that too.

Me: Dude, reactions are all part and parcel of the process. Are you trying to tell me that if a girl proposes to you, you will just stand still and be normal? No right? And what do you mean that you would not know what her answer is going to be. I am sure that she would have dropped some hints to you if she was interested in you. And you can always know whether she sees you as a normal friend or as someone more than that.

Him: Huh? hints? for what la. Just propose la. Just ask the guy la.

Me: NO! I am in favour of a girl proposing to a guy. I still belong to the old school man.

Him: not fair la. You girls make it so tough for us.

Me: Well, that's why you are the guy and we are the girls.

My life is so exciting right?
