Saturday Morning.

I spend my Saturday mornings at Mendaki. Yeah, I am one of those volunteers helping those kids out. Honestly, I always look forward to Saturdays mainly because of this 1 reason. The kids there are so adorable.

It has already been a month since I joined the organization and I have been to 2 centers so far. The kids I have met thus far have never failed to amuse me. Yes, it coming from someone who have always thought that kids are useless as they don't entertain me in any manner. I have always thought that entertainment comes solely from communication and communication to me simply means 2 people talking to each other about a subject of a common interest or experience. So I can't possibly be talking to a kid about how I was when I was 7 years old or even about cartoons right? ( You must see the reactions I give Fad whenever she says that she wants to catch a cartoon movie at the cinemas.)

Well, this was the kind of perception that I was holding of kids till I became part of the Menadaki tuition scheme. The programme is very much similar to the one conducted by Sinda. The purpose of the programme is for the betterment of the society and that explains why I dont really mind waking up early on a Saturday morning. My perception of kids was completely squashed and thrown away by these kids I have met so far.

They are real sweet and you can see the innocence in their eyes. The most interesting thing about all of them is that, they are all aware of their own family and financial difficulties and they feel very free to tell you about it. I mean look at us, adults. Once we get hit by a problem or hear others problems, we tend to take it seriously and we collapse once we cant handle it. Looks of distress and depression could be easily seen on our faces. But look at them. Despite knowing everything that goes back at home, they can still run around and smile. In fact you can feel the sense of determination when they tell you that, "thats why teacher I want to study hard and be a teacher like you". Frankly, I could really sense the passion and drive in them and I really hope the best for them.

I forget all my problems and worries when I see them. I feel so energetic and cheerful once I talk to them. Yeah man, my opinion of kids has totally changed. I really think that they are a bunch of sweeties.

See! This is why I will never regret joining the scheme.

Good things always come in a bulk.

Dont they?
